Success-ful

I think every one makes a New Year Resolution to lose some weight... the right way to lose weight is to make sure that the calories you are taking in, is less than the calories you are expending... Eat less, move more!  There is no "magic" pill or shake that you can drink that will make the weight fall off... unless you are looking to put it right back on plus some...

I recently certified as a Weight Loss Coach through NASM.  I realized how simple the concept of losing is, but it isn't easy to do until you change your mind about it.

I challenge all of us to watch what we eat, and move at least 30-45 minutes a day!!  Walk, dance, put a little "umph" in your step while cleaning or folding laundry... any movement is better than no movement at all...

Sometimes we just need a visual to see our success... I found this idea on Pinterest... and put my own spin on it... 2 jars- one will be filled with the pounds you want to lose and put into the other jar marked "Success" as you lose.  Once all the beads/rocks are transferred, you will have a pretty vase to put a flower in it to show off your hard work!!

My Hat

Having a lot of fun making these hats!!  I made one for myself... using some fun yarn mixed with white.  They are getting easier to make...not better just easier which translates into getting them done faster.  I plan to make at least one a month this year and then by Christmas I'll have several to give away as gifts!  Perhaps, I'll learn how to make a scarf as well...

I have family in COLD parts of the country that would wear them... I think!  Thanks for looking!!

Ribbon/Award

I was asked to make some type of "award" for our office.. although, I swore I wasn't going to make anything else for work, as I am not comfortable in having others "critique" my work.  BUT... I agreed to do it one last time- PROMISE!!

I made rosettes using Artiste, cutting 2 at 1-1/2."  Glued them together and then cut two circle per rosette at 3" to place the "ribbon" between.  I found Smiley buttons although I wanted Stars... but I thought these would work just fine and glued them in the middle!

I added a pin finding to the the back -just in case-

I think they turned out alright...  They are bright and cheery...and has the look of a Gold Star ribbon award... Right?  hahahahhaha

"Beary Thankful" The End

I hate when the Parades are over...I hope everyone had fun this week!!  I sure had fun putting it together for you!

This is one of my favorites, as this week has been dedicated to my mother!  I wanted to send her a "Thank-You" and what better way than a Thank you card and a Hat to match!!  Hahahahaha... I just started learning how to knit on the loom and wanted to make my mom a hat!  The colors at first were a bit "different" as it was called "camo-pink" and I didn't quite think that was fitting for my mom...but as I went along, I really liked the colors and plan to make a hat for myself just like it!!

I cut the Teddy Bear at 3-1/2" dressed her up in a winter hat and sweater- ( that sweater may win next years "Ugly Sweater" contest) but I thought it turned out darling.  I flocked the little teddy bear on the sweater and added her to the Thank you card!

Thank you mom for the Teddy Bear cartridge!!  This week was a blast!!!
Thanks to everyone that took the time to stop by this week to watch the "parade!"  I enjoyed the comments and thoughtfulness!

I will be drawing names for the prizes this weekend!!  Remember: you need to be a follower and left a comment on each day in order to be eligible to win!  It's that easy!!!

"Beary" Athletic-Day 7

Full steam ahead with this parade... having a blast and I hope you are too!!

Had to "throw" this little bear in the parade, as he is about as cute as it gets!  Not sure exactly what team he is with, as I just "threw" together some colors, not having any particular team in mind...so he is on a league all of his own!!

I thought he would be darling on a banner!  I have never tried to make a banner before, so I thought this would be a great challenge!  It was!!  I used Sports Mania for the pennant and sized it at 3-1/4" and layered with 3" and then used Varsity Letters for the HOORAY!!  Strung it with some ribbon, and Voila!!  A Big HOORAY banner!!

Very cute!!  I will make a few more of these in the future!  Now, I need to find a good home for this "beary" athletic bear!!

Leave me a comment if you are enjoying the Teddy Bear Parade so far...Only one more day to go!

"Beary" Funny- Day 6

What parade is complete without a Clown???

I loved this little bear... isn't he cute?  I cut him at 4" and while he was perfect sized to put together, he was a little BIG to put on a card or much else... but, I thought he would look cute on a popcorn box... so I cut one using TBBM and cut it "fit to page."  Embossed the box, since it looked a little plain, but once this little bear was attached... it was plain no more!!

He would be so very cute on a birthday card of any age or a "cheer-you-up" kind of card!  Don't you think??

I plan to fill the box with some peanuts in the shell or popcorn, or  possibly throw some M&M's and licorice in there too... ( not very big to put a lot of goodies in there...) I always lean towards goodies as a gift, and this year, I need to think "outside the "goodie" box!"  Not easy to do sometimes...hahahahahahha

Come back tomorrow!!  Saving something special for the end of the Parade!!!

Remember to leave a comment on each Parade post and be a follower!!  I'll be drawing for some "blog candy" this week!!

"Beary" Sick Day 5

Hello!  I have had so much fun putting this Parade together, I hope you are having fun too!!

Next in line is the handsome Doctor Bear!!  Oh, my, he would make anyone feel better... don't you think??  I thought he could heal the sick, or mend a "broken heart."

He is cut at 4" and notice the embossing... XXOO's   ahh.... He needed a Dr. bag, so I cut one at 6"- very small... but it was perfect for the "prescription bottle" of Tic-Tac's!!  ( M&M or skittles would be cute too...)

What do you think?

"Beary" Relaxing- Day 4

Woohoo... this Parade is moving right along... I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am!!!  Next up is this darling Spa Bear... oh, she is cute!!

I cut her at 3-1/2" and "blinged" her up a bit!  I made a box and cut the bathtub and bubbles from EDPD at 4-1/2" Added to the box and filled with "spa" goodies!

Who would not want to receive this as a gift??  Well, I for one would, and I just may keep for myself!  I could use a "Beary Relaxing" moment or two!!

As always, thanks for stopping by...  remember to leave me a comment!!  I will be drawing names for some Super prizes on January 7th!  **Yep, must be a follower to win!!

"Beary" Smart- Day 3

Woohoo!!  This parade is taking shape!!  So glad you are all still "watching!"

This bear was a "must-make!"  This litle bear holding a laptop!  Good Grief that is cute... Since I am attached to my laptop, I thought she would be cute on something... but what??

Well, ever notice when you walk through a coffee shop and EVERYONE is in there on their laptops?  I thought  she would look fitting near a cup of coffee or latte...hahahaha...so I made a coffee mug using TBBM2- cut at 8" and put together.  It takes a little time to figure this one out, but once you do, it is super easy to glue together.  Using Gypsy Wanderings I cut out the "sun-swirley" at 4.50."  It kind of reminded me of a certain coffee shop... wink, wink!

I added some "steamed" fluff- so it would look more like a Latte, and then put an itunes card and a Starbucks card on a Pixie Stix as well as this "beary" smart bear and stuck in the mug.  I think it turned out cute... Don't you think a College Student would love this??  My college days are in the past, but I would have loved this myself!!

Please come back tomorrow...

"Beary Hungry" Day 2

Hello... and welcome back to the Teddy Bear Parade!
This Bear is one of my favorites!!!  So adorable!  Cut at 3-1/2 "

I knew I wanted to make him right away... but wasn't sure what in the world I would do with him, but my mom had a great suggestion:

Put him on a magnet!  Well... that got my mind thinking in the right direction and I found this cute little white board, and put the Chef Bear on the magnet and Voila!!  He is ready to take my order!!!
