Well, I have seen these all over the Message Boards for a couple of years now, and they are starting to make a comeback due to Valentines around the corner.  I found the pattern on Splitcoaststampers MB and copied the template and cut by hand.  They were pretty simple to make!  Oh... the possibilities are endless! I used scraps that I had, and embellishments on hand, but with lace and pretty ribbons and bows and such, these could be darling!  I was thinking what a fun lingerie party invite this would be, or a love note to your hubby or BF or of course a "caught ya off guard" type of Valentine which is what I will be giving my  hubby this year!  I am sure he will be golfing that day or close to it, so I will slip this into his golf bag... What a surprise that will be...I better see who he is golfing with that day... wouldn't want to offend anyone! Hahaha

Race Bibs

are all in one place...the ones I could find!  I saw an add in a magazine, and thought I could make one of those... so I did!!! I cut out a rounded square from George at 8-1/4 X 8-1/2" out of cardboard using the deep blade and then four more rounded squares in PINK- my favorite color-  Then using Sports Mania, I cut the Finish Line banner and the running girl to fit in black(note: Modge Podge and black paper rarely mix)... Using Modge Podge I "glued" everything together, punched holes and put in all my racing bibs...I am missing a couple, but now most are in one place!
I am trying to get things organized this year, and I am starting early!  Magazine cost: $39.99, My cost, $.01, looking at some (painful) memories- Priceless!!!

Pick your Pleasure..

Root Beer Float or a just a "Cold One"... Hahaha... used Smiley Cards again, and thought the mug was adorable!  I originally was just going to do Root Beer floats, but ran out of brown paper so I thought, how about making some beer??- Hahaha-  Again, without the book to understand how this is put together, I did my best.  I do think I am missing a piece... but only I would know that, right...?
I made cards... and cut them at 5.50"- I ran the "drink" through my Cuttlebug using the bubbles folder and then added some white stickles and bling with the iRock.  Of course, added a Peachy Keen stamp for the front.  I thought the little face looked perfect for the Beer one...  Inside the card I stamped "Cheers to you" from a $1.00 stamp I bought at Michael's months ago.  (I just happened to see it this morning... that's why I used it!!)  I made a few extras since I thought this may make a perfect Birthday card for my Hubby's friends- So I tried not to make them too girly-ish!  Hahaha

Ice Cream Cones

Well, I had to try out the Smiley Card download on the  Gypsy, and since I was in the mood for some Ice Cream... this one stood out!  Hahaha... I welded the Ice Cream Cone to make a card, and then I cut the Ice Cream and cone separately, removing the faces, as I wanted to use Peach Keen Stamps instead.  I cut the card and layers all at 5.24" embossed and stamped and glued and done!  I may add a ribbon, as it needs some bling or something... but I think coupled with a Cold Stone Creamery Gift card, this would make a cute and simple gift!  What do you think?  Strawberry or Chocolate?

Car Tattoo's

Before I put my Car Decal cartridge away, I cut two really quick "tattoo's!"  One for my Husband and one for my Mother.  Can you guess which one is for which?  Hahaha
None of us like things on our car windows, but these were small enough that they won't stand out... but cute enough to show off- a little!  :)
I cut the Golfer at 2-1/4" and the phrase Families are Forever at 1-1/4"  Amazing how the sizing can be so different with each image!  Anyways, I am waiting for my Hubby to come home- from golfing- so I can put the Golfer on his car, and I plan to send the phrase to my Mother so she can put on her car window!
These decals are addicting.. I looked at the book and wanted to put more images on my car... but I think one is enough...for now!  That's why they are like Tattoo's once you get one you want another!!!  BTW... I don't have any Tattoo's but that's what I hear!!  Hahaha

Cool Snowmen

I saw these done on a MB and I thought they were darling... so, of course, I wanted to try and make them!  I am not sure who it was that made these originally, as I like to give credit where credit is due!
I cut out 2 large circles, 1 med circle and 1 smaller circle and ran them all thought the cuttlebug using the divine swirl folder.  I used Peachy Keen Stamps for the faces- I am not impressed with the Snowman Stamps!- and then chalked in the cheeks and colored in the nose.  I used CAC for the hat and used my Irock for a little bling.  Put the peppermint patty between the large circles and popped the body and head with dimensionals- glued on the hat and there you go!
I think these are the last of my Christmas goodies and Christmas with the Cricut!  I am so ready to move on to other projects..(for myself!!) Hahaha...

Reindeer Fun

These little boxes turned out cuter than I expected!  I found pattern from Splitcoasters for the cute little box.  I punched a hole in the top using an oval punch I had to make a small handle.  I embossed the papers using  Sizzix snowflake  and Swiss dots folders.  I cut the reindeer at 2-3/4" stamped the face using Peachy Keen stamps and used a tiny pompom for the nose and made a bow as a scarf.  I put together goodie bags and they fit perfectly in there.  These little boxes would be so cute for any holiday or another way to package a small gift!
I made 15 of these boxes for office gifting this year!  Thanks as always for stopping by!

Car Decals

Oh, I just had to have this cartridge!!!  You know, any cut from any cartridge can be cut out of vinyl and put on your car window... but this one had a cute little runner and some fun sayings, so I bought this one!  I  plan to make a couple for my car... I started with this one:  The runner girl.  I cut her at 2.12 and layered her on pink, so the white would show... I love how it turned out!  I will be making a golfer for my hubby that he will "proudly" put in his window.  ( He doesn't like anything on his car/windows)  Hahaha

Happy Thanksgiving

Decided last minute to decorate a wine bottle as part of a Hostess gift today.  Of course, it was an odd shaped bottle, so the whole thing looks a little odd... but, I cut out the Turkeys from CAC 1-3/4" and then I cut the leaf and pumpkin at 2-1/2" on shrink art paper and "shrunk' them down to make little charms for the top!  Embossed the papers and the middle square says "Thank You."  My camera is missing in action, so again picture taken with iPhone!  Not real fond of the way it turned out, but hey, the "wrapper" gets ripped off, and the wine pours, and the bottle is recycled!  Hahaha

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I am so thankful that you come and look at my little blog often- it means so much to me!

I have had this idea floating around in my head for a couple of weeks now, I am sure the idea is not original, but it was something that I wanted to make nonetheless!  I found the candle holders at the $ store, and using Storybook for the letters and ACY for the snowflake.  I cut them out at 1.50 " and adhered to the candle holders.  They were so easy to make!  Now, wouldn't this make a great Holiday gift?  I even made me a set...something I rarely do!  Thanks as always for looking!

Playful Penguins

I just love Penguins, and so I originally thought, I would make Christmas cards this year using the CAC Penguin cut.  I cut 10 of them at 3.25"  Put them all together, and then thought, they looked a little too big for a card, so I wondered what I could do with them.  Using the TBBM cartridge, I made the nut cups fit to page- and put the Penguin on the front and will use these as treat cups with candy as cute little give-aways! Very easy to make!

Wine Totes/Gift Bags

Well, I started a little early this year, making Hostess gifts!  I made these darling Wine Totes or Gift bags to use as Hostess gifts throughout the Holiday season!  We get invited to all kinds of parties, and I always like to take a little something when I go or have something on hand for last minute!!!
The wine tote ( yes, a bottle of wine fits in it) was made with a 12X12 piece of card stock scored and put together... the snowman, was cut from Doodlecharms cartridge, I liked that Snowman best.  I glittered stamped with Peach Keen stamps and tied a ribbon around it to look like a scarf!
The pictures are taken by my iPhone, since I couldn't find my camera sorry!

I saw a video on Emma's blog, My Creative Time, and just had to try and make same type of card!  I love clipboards, and haven't yet altered the real thing, so this was close for now!  hahaha... I used Sports Mania and welded the clipboard in my Gypsy.  I have no idea on who to give these to, so I guess my mom will end up with one of them, but they make darling little notes cards!  I might have to make a few just to have on hand...Thanks for looking!

Bring in the Clowns...

I made the clown for a Paper Doll Swap earlier this year... I had two left over and thought I could put it to good use for a Birthday Card for my Father-n -Law.  I love when I have things like this already made and stashed away for emergencies!  We forgot his Birthday... so I needed to make a card ASAP!!!

I can't believe Halloween, my favorite holiday is about here and gone!  I didn't make as many cute thing this year, been busy!!!  The Hersey candy bar wrappers were a cinch to make, and very affordable!  I embossed the fronts using my only Halloween cuttle bug folder, and the spider cut from Doodlecharms!  Happy Halloween!!

Altered Cup

This cup was screaming for Vinyl... I used Gypsy Wanderings and cut the words and butterflies... I had cut out additional words and butterflies, but, I thought maybe this was enough...the cup wasn't big enough for everything I wanted to slap on it... hahahaha... I bought the cup at Jo Ann's with a 50% coupon...very easy to make- I think they would make great personalized gift...what do you think?

Pumpkin Boxes

Using Happy Hauntings- I cut out these pumpkin goody boxes... I cut them at fit to page, which came out to be 8".  I stamped the face since the face for it, was a little "scary" to cut out... and didn't look like any pumpkin I had ever seen before, so these are a little "friendlier" and I didn't have to glue tiny pieces!!!  I put a ribbon around the box, not to keep it closed, as I used the red tape for them, but I felt they needed a little something...

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Made these halloween treat bags using Paper Doll Dress Up and Plantin Schoolbook for the box.  These were fun to make!  I love the PPDU/EDPD cartridges... I love the halloween characters on that Cart... better than Happy Hauntings!

Oldie but "Goodie"

I still think one of the easiest and cutest party favor is the "sour cream" container!  Very easy to make, and requires very few materials.  I have made plenty of these and varied them depending on the party or occasion.  I made these for Halloween, with some of last years paper, and filled them with bite sized candy.  A tag would be very cute on these too, but since the paper was so "fun" and busy I left them plain.  Thanks for looking!

"Coffin" up some fun today!  I bought Happy Hauntings cartridge mainly for this cut...I will say, the 3D boxes are tough to size on this cartridge.  I cut it out at 7-1/2" top and bottom, along with the liners for the inside.  I cut a Spider from the same cartridge at 4-3/4 and used my Irock for the first time today to add a little bling.  I embossed the top of box with the Spiderweb folder.  The boxes will be plenty big to put 4+ fun sized candy bars inside them... I hope!  Thanks for looking!

I made these Tic-Tac boxes for Breast Cancer Awareness month.  My mother is a breast cancer survivor and I am thankful everyday for her!  I thought these were cute.  I saw PINK Tic-Tacs at the grocery store and just had to make the little boxes for them.  I used my Gypsy, and put the Awareness Ribbon in the center of the box, and then used my SIZZIX Breast Cancer embossing plates to give the paper some texture.  Tied ribbon into a knot (the ribbon was too thick for a bow) and there you have it!  Simple to make!

My First Blog Award

WOW!!! How excited am I? I got my first blog Award from Love That Bug... Thanks!! Made my day!!

Well, I came up with a "Thank-you" card for all my wonderful supporters for my upcoming Marathon!! I debated on color, which seemed to be one of the hardest decisions I have in all of my projects!!! I wanted to go Orange, since it would remind me of the color of the mountains in St. George, but it was a little too close to Halloween... so blue it is! Sports Mania is the cartridge I used, the border feature of the female runner, and then I welded in my Gypsy the "finish line" border for the inside! The letters were tough to cut since they were so small, but I lowered my speed, and upped the pressure and that seemed to help a little!!! Can't wait to mail them out with the words: "I DID IT!!!" on them!!!

"Thanks" to my Followers

I just wanted to say "THANKS" for following my blog! I know ther are days that nothing new gets added, and I hate when I go to Blogs and see the same thing day after day...So I just wanted to say "THANKS" to everyone that comes and visits or follows this tiny Blog!!! Please leave a comment and tell me what you like to look at when you visit blogs, and I will do a random drawing, so leave me a way to contact you... Not sure of the Surprise just yet, but I will find the "right thing" for one lucky winner! I will have my hubby draw a name from all those that leave a comment Sunday night, September 26th!

Finish Line cards I made for my Mother and Sister-n-law after finishing the Park City 1/2 Marathon last year! I was trying to figure out a way to make another card to say "Thanks" to all my supporters for my up and coming Marathon Next weekend!!! I thought maybe this would inspire me to make something...Ugh!!! The cards were made using Sports Mania cartridge and the paper dolls were made from PDDU... the dolls represented my mother and mother-n law! They were fun to make!!

Have I been busy or what? A friend had asked me to make a Mass Card for her brother who had just passed away. She thought I was crafty and had always liked the things I had made in the past, so why not have me do something like this?? Well, she asked for 50 which is A LOT for me, since I really had no clue what it was I was actually making for her. Her brother liked to garden and that was the main focus of my card. I used ACY - the little boy gardening silhouette, and used the card feature as well. Used the picture she gave me for the front, and tied gingham ribbon to the side. Inside, I used Vellum, something I had not used before and printed the information she supplied. I used Glue Dots to adhere the Vellum, since is was virtually see- through and I didn't want to see tape or glue.... DONE!! 50 in 2 days... I wouldn't want to make a living making these... I prefer cuteness!

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

Have I mentioned that I love Halloween? I bought these bowls at Walmart- 4/$1.00...I thought about what I could do with them, and then I bought some black vinyl... and well... here is what I came up with... I used Happy Hauntings- a great Halloween cartridge, but wow, do you have to play with the sizing on this one! I cut 4 different designs for each side! Very easy to do, and I think they would make a nice hostess gift or party-like dishes filled with candy! These are not filled with candy just yet, as I have another month and change before the holiday, and if I filled them, well... you know what would happen!!! I'll fill as needed! Hahaha!!!
